Teach yourself the basics to making cute crocheted gifts...it's easier than you think

This is my first blog for crocheting, and hopefully won't be abandoned like other projects of mine. 

              My mom taught me how to make chains when she would crochet scarfs for my little sister and I. Having that basic down is essential.  If you don't know how to make that start with this tutorial on making chains. If you know how to do that, the next basics you need to learn are stitches. There is the basic single crochet (SC in shorthand pattern text) 

Half-double crochet (HDC) is the next stitch that you need to learn, it's in between single and double.

After that is the double crochet, which is used in lots of patterns.(DC)
